This could be considered as either a PC-XT you can fit in the palm of your hand, or a "PDA" that also happens to run countless MS-DOS programs.
The built-in Personal Information Manager (PIM) software was very powerful and comprehensive for its time; it included the usual address book, appointments calendar, notepad / memopad, Pocket Quicken, Lotus 123, and cc:Mail. Also built-in is a "Filer" program for file management, LapLink to connect with a desktop system for file transfer, a Data Communication program for connecting to online services, and more!
Because it runs MS DOS 5.0 and has the architecture of a PC-XT with a CGA graphics adapter, it's able to run almost any DOS software which could run on a similar desktop system.
Using a PCMCIA flash-memory card in lieu of a hard-drive allowed for limitless storage space. The built-in 2MB system memory was divided between normal RAM and a RAM-disk which became the C:\ drive. This 2MB model provides 640 KB of system RAM and about 1400 KB of C: drive. Additionally, the unit comes with an HP original 5MB PCMCIA memory card which adds another 5MB of storage.
This item is used and may have some general wear and tear and scuffs / scratches. The included disks have not been tested.
Please examine the photos as they are of precisely the item that you will receive.
Despite this PDA having been tested and found to be fully functional, it IS almost 30 years old technology and as such, there is no guarantee offered, or implied, for continued functioning. This lot is being sold as-is.
