The Apple 17” Studio Display is an LCD active matrix color screen with 1280x1024 resolution housed in unique “crystal clear” housing. This screen is unusual in the sense that it requires a single cable to connect it to a properly equipped Mac. This cable provides power to the screen, video signals and two USB ports on the back of the screen.
This unit is in great condition for its age. It exhibits very few surface scratches. It has been tested connected to a PowerMac G4 and functions as expected: video, brightness control, touch power button, touch brightness button and USB ports. The screen brightness is excellent and the rear screen support leg is still complete. The cable has darkened and has a brownish tinge instead of the standard beige color.
Note that this model requires a Mac equipped with an ADC output or it can be connected to a standard DVI or VGA output by using a custom adapter that Apple sold at the time (not included).
