Description

NEW, SHRINK WRAPPED! Very rare Vintage Asanté SCSI-to-Ethernet adapter for compact Macs

Rare, new old stock, Asanté SCSI-to-Ethernet Adapter! This is the Desktop EN/SC-10T version with a standard RJ-45 connector. Sealed box, in great overall condition (for a 25 years old item)! Other than a small tear in the plastic wrap, this unit is in excellent condition (see pictures).

Use this adapter to connect a vintage Macintosh to an Ethernet network through the 25 pin SCSI connector on the back of the Mac! Ideal way for adding Ethernet to a compact Mac without opening it  or adding Ethernet to an SE/30 whose expansion slot is already filled. This adapter is SCSI bus powered; it does not require an external power source. It uses a fixed, factory-set, SCSI ID of 6.

Systems supported: Macintosh Classic Family; II, IIX, IIsi, IIcx, IIci, IIvx; SE; SE/30; LC Family, except PowerPC versions; Performa Family, except 631CD and PowerPC versions.

Box contents (copied from the side panel on the box): Desktop EN/SC-10T adapter, Ethernet cable, Asante EtherTalk driver installer and utility, manual and 25-pin/25-pin SCSI cable.

Since the 25 years old box is still factory sealed, it is untested and I cannot guarantee functionality. It is being sold as-is, however there is no reason to think that it will not work since it is brand new. No warranty and no returns.
