Rasterops Colorboard 264/S30 PDS Color Video Card for the Apple Mac Macintosh SE/30

This card was recently pulled from a Macintosh SE/30. It is confirmed working (see photos).

The rare RasterOps Colorboard 264/SE30 color video card allows a standard B&W SE/30 computer to output color video on a separate color monitor (monitor not included). The card supports a resolution of 640 x 480 in up to 24-bit color. The Mac can simultaneously use both an external color monitor and the internal SE/30 monitor in extended mode (see picture). Note that the card's video output is via an Apple DB15 connector and doesn't support multisync monitors, but can be used in conjunction with a manually set video adapter that supports 640x480.

From what I gathered online, the card works with Apple Monitors’ control panel without requiring any drivers for a color depth of 8 bits. The Rasterops driver (available online) is required to support the full 24bits color depth. Having said that, you can see on the photo that the “Millions” of colors option is available in the Apple control panel without any Rasterops driver installed.

The video card works with System 7.1 and 7.5.5

This listing is for the Rasterops Colorboard 264/SE30 with the monitor connector bracket and two mounting screws only. The Rasterops card is in excellent cosmetic and functional condition. The Macintosh SE/30 and the monitor shown in the pictures are to show that the card is functional and are not included in this listing.

The horizontal “bands” in the picture are due to a combination of the camera’s shutter speed and CRT scanning rate. They are not visible on either the SE/30 or the monitor.

Despite this card having been tested and found to be functional, it IS 30+ years old technology and is therefore sold as is with no returns accepted. This is a great, unusual and rare, addition to your SE/30.
