In October 1990, Apple introduced the Macintosh Classic. It was the first low-cost and affordable of the compact Macs.

Unlike most units being sold these days which are sold "as is", "for parts or repair", "untested", etc., this Mac has undergone a restoration and is fully tested and fully functional.

This unit is the model with one floppy drive and a hard disk. It has been restored and is in good cosmetic condition AND in excellent functional condition. It has also been expanded to the full 4MB of RAM.

Other than an engraved identifier on the top portion of the front bezel and a couple of small pry marks, the unit is in very good condition: no uneven discoloration, no stickers, no sticker residue, no dings, no cracks and no missing or broken parts. It is clean, complete and fully functional. No battery leaks and no corroded printed circuit board traces. The computer has been dusted and cleaned. All the original, electrolytic capacitors on the logic board have been replaced (“re-capped”). The rubber “feet” on the underside (which had a tendency of disintegrating) have been replaced. The SuperDrive floppy disk drive has been disassembled, serviced, cleaned and lubricated - it works perfectly: reads, writes, formats and ejects disks. The original, 40MB, SCSI hard disk has been fully tested… Mac OS 6.0.7 (French) is installed on the hard.

This Mac boots properly from floppy or hard disk. It is ready to serve for many years to come. It has been fully tested: sound, keyboard port, mouse port, internal and external floppy ports, internal and external SCSI ports, serial port: all tested and working. The screen is in excellent condition: sharp and bright with no screen burn in.

 The keyboard has been fully tested. The old troublesome clock/params battery has been removed.

Despite this computer having been extensively tested and found to be fully functional, it IS over 30 years old technology and as such, there is no guarantee offered, or implied, for continued functioning. This lot is being sold as-is with no returns accepted.

Includes the Macintosh Classic, an original (French) Apple keyboard, the original keyboard cable, an original Apple ADB 2 mouse and a generic power cord.  Ready to be plugged in for a trip back in time to the early 90’s....
