Restored/Recapped/Tested Vintage Apple Mac Macintosh Centris 610
Over 30 years ago, in February 1993, Apple introduced the Macintosh Centris line of computers. The 610 was a midrange, easy to upgrade, computer in a “pizza box” case.
This model was only produced for a few months before being rebranded as a Quadra. This is one of the early, original, Apple Centris 610’s.
This 610 is equipped with a 68LC040 processor, 24 MB of RAM, a floppy disk drive, a BlueSCSI solid-state hard disk drive AND the optional CD-ROM drive. Mac OS 7.5.3 (English) is installed on the hard disk.
This unit is in superb condition, complete and fully functional – not discolored. No missing or broken parts, no battery leaks, no capacitor leaks, no corrosion and no corroded printed circuit board traces. All the original, electrolytic capacitors on the logic board have been recently replaced ("recapped"). The SuperDrive floppy disk drive has been disassembled, serviced, cleaned and lubricated - it works perfectly: reads, writes, formats and ejects disks.
Fully tested: sound, internal and external SCSI ports, video port, ADB ports, serial ports, BlueSCSI hard disk, floppy drive, CD-ROM drive, keyboard and mouse – all working without issues. The original, dead, clock/params battery has been discarded, however, it can be easily replaced.
Includes the Macintosh Centris 610, an original (Canadian French layout) Apple Extended Keyboard II, an original Apple ADB 2 mouse, the original Apple power cord, the original microphone, the original documentation (in French) – even the original Apple rainbow stickers are included, one CD caddy and a set of Mac OS 7 installation floppy disks.
Despite this computer having been extensively tested and found to be fully functional, it IS over 30 years old technology and as such, there is no guarantee offered, or implied, for continued functioning. This lot is being sold as-is with no returns accepted.
This is a collector-grade, complete and fully functional vintage computer and a unique opportunity to acquire a rare and superb conversation piece. It's ready for prominent display in any collection. You'll get everything required to start using it right away...just add a monitor for a trip back in time to the early 90’s....
