Rare, Vintage Apple Mac Macintosh Color Classic M1600 - Recapped/Upgraded/Tested/Working

This is a rare, restored, recapped, working, Macintosh Color Classic in amazing, condition. The case is an even color; it is slightly yellowed, but the yellowing is a consistent one - not different shades. From what I could see, other than some faint use marks, the system has no broken parts, no dings, no marker writings, no stickers, no sticker residue, no cigarette or musty smells, however the computer seems to have had an engraved identifier on the back of the case which was sanded down (see photos).

This Color Classic has been cleaned, dusted, recapped, detailed, upgraded, tested and restored to reliable, working condition.

The Macintosh Color Classic (sold as the Macintosh Colour Classic in Europe and as the Macintosh Color Deluxe in Japan) was sold between February 1993 and May 1995 (up to January 1998 in European markets). It was an "all-in-one" design, with a small, integrated 10 inch Sony Trinitron display with 512 × 384 pixel resolution. The Color Classic was the final model of the original "compact" family of Macintosh computers, and was replaced by the larger display Macintosh LC 500 series and Power Macintosh 5200 LC.

This is a rare, highly thought after and very collectible vintage Mac. The Color Classic was the first compact Mac with a color screen and the last compact Mac to be produced. This particular unit is in absolutely great condition. Its logic board has been recapped, its memory has been upgraded to the full 10 MB, a VRAM SIMM has been added (unsure of its capacity) and the logic board has been upgraded with the (optional) Floating Point Unit (FPU) chip.

The original 40MB SCSI hard disk is still present and is fully functional. The floppy disk drive has been cleaned, serviced and lubricated - it reads, writes, formats and ejects disks as intended. The color Sony Trinitron screen is in excellent condition - it's bright, sharp and stable with no burn-in. The CRT picture has been adjusted for good focus and color. A fresh PRAM/clock battery was not installed. The whole system has been fully tested: sound, internal and external SCSI ports, volume and brightness controls, hard disk, floppy drive, ADB ports, PDS expansion slot,soft power-on, etc.

If you're a collector, then you know that finding a Color Classic in ANY condition is not easy. Finding one in working condition is even more difficult. Finding one which is in such great condition, fully functional, and upgraded, and restored and complete with almost no damage and little yellowing is almost impossible, but this is what's being offered! You will not be disappointed!

Includes the Color Classic, the original, recapped and cleaned, logic board, the FPU chip (installed), two 4MB memory sticks, a VRAM memory stick, the Apple Keyboard, the original keyboard cable, the Apple ADB Desktop Bus Mouse  and the original Apple power cord.

It is worth noting that this computer is fully compatible with the Apple IIe PDS Card (not included). This is an Apple II emulation card which can run most Apple II programs, interface to an Apple II floppy drive and an Apple II joystick - great solution for retro-computing and retro-gaming! The card was tested on this Mac and confirmed to work flawlessly!

MacOS 7.1 (French) is currently installed on the hard disk with some programs and utilities. It's ready to use! Just plug it in and travel back in time (first class) to the early 90's!
