Rare, Vintage Apple Mac Macintosh Color Classic M1600 - PRISTINE/Recapped/Upgraded/Tested/Working

This is a rare, working, Macintosh Color Classic in amazing, like-new, condition. Other than some imperceptible light use marks, it has barely any yellowing, no broken parts, no dings, no scratches, no engravings, no marker writings, no stickers, no sticker residue, no cigarette or musty smells. Upgraded and fully restored to reliable, working condition.

The Macintosh Color Classic (sold as the Macintosh Colour Classic in Europe and as the Macintosh Color Deluxe in Japan) was sold between February 1993 and May 1995 (up to January 1998 in European markets). It was an "all-in-one" design, with a small, integrated 10 inch Sony Trinitron display with 512 × 384 pixel resolution. The Color Classic was the final model of the original "compact" family of Macintosh computers, and was replaced by the larger display Macintosh LC 500 series and Power Macintosh 5200 LC.

This is a rare and highly thought after vintage Mac. The Color Classic was the first compact Mac with a color screen and the last compact Mac to be produced. This particular unit is in absolutely pristine condition. Its logic board has been replaced by a 60% faster logic board from a Macintosh LC520 with a faster processor running at 25MHz (vs. the CC's 16MHz), a full 36MB of RAM (vs. the CC's 10MB maximum) and a 32 bits data bus (vs. the CC's 16 bits). This upgrade brings this Color Classic to almost the same specs as a Color Classic II! The logic board also includes the optional Floating Point Unit (FPU) chip. The upgraded logic board has the advantage of having the same ports layout as the original logic board thus allowing the use of the original CC I/O port cover. The logic board has been recapped. The computer has been disassembled, cleaned, serviced and detailed – it looks and works like new! The original (dead) 80MB SCSI mechanical hard disk has been replaced by a fully functional electronic disk with two partitions of 2GB each! The floppy disk drive has been serviced and lubricated - reads, writes, formats and ejects disks as intended. The color Trinitron screen is in excellent condition - it's bright, sharp and stable with no burn-in. The CRT picture has been adjusted for good focus and color. The PRAM/clock battery has been replaced – the computer keeps time and settings even when turned off. The whole system has been fully tested: sound, internal and external SCSI ports, volume and brightness controls, hard disk, floppy drive, keyboard, mouse, etc.

If you're a collector, then you know that finding a Color Classic in ANY condition is not easy. Finding one in working condition is even more difficult. Finding one which is in such amazing condition, fully functional, and upgraded, and restored and complete with no damage and barely any yellowing is almost impossible, but this is what's being offered! You will not be disappointed!

Includes the Color Classic, the upgraded logic board from an LC520, the FPU chip (installed), the Apple Keyboard II in excellent condition (no damage and almost no yellowing), the original keyboard cable, the Apple ADB Desktop Bus Mouse II and the original Apple power cord. Also includes many of the LC520 manuals. This Color Classic exhibits barely any yellowing or any discoloration and has not been retrobrighted. Its case color is even and matches that of the keyboard and mouse.

It is worth noting that this computer, even with its upgraded logic board, is fully compatible with the Apple IIe PDS Card (not included). This is an Apple II emulation card which can run most Apple II programs. The card was tested on this Mac and confirmed to work flawlessly!

MacOS 7.5.3 is freshly installed on the first partition of the electronic hard disk with many programs and utilities. It's ready to use! Just plug it in and travel back in time (first class) to the early 90's!

Despite this computer having been thoroughly tested and found to be fully functional, it IS almost 30 years old technology and as such, there is no guarantee offered or implied, of continued functioning. This lot is being sold as-is with no returns accepted.
