Rare Apple Mac Macintosh LC575 Performa 575 - Restored/Working/A1

This is a rare, complete, working Macintosh LC575 in amazing cosmetic and functional condition!

The computer has been cleaned, recapped, upgraded, detailed and tested. You won't find many Macs of this model in such an amazing condition!

The computer has been extensively tested: sound, internal SCSI port, external SCSI port, ADB port, internal floppy port, floppy drive, electronic hard disk, keyboard, mouse, volume buttons, brightness buttons, etc… all tested and confirmed working!

Most computers of this vintage use capacitors which after many years, tend to leak their corrosive contents and often destroy the logic board. This unit’s logic board has had all its electrolytic capacitors replaced by much more durable and much more reliable tantalum capacitors which do not leak. The logic board did not suffer any trace damage caused by capacitor leakage. The logic board has also been cleaned.

The computer has been disassembled, dusted, cleaned and detailed – the interior looks like new (see photos). Even the fan has been thoroughly cleaned!

The hard disk, like many ~30 years old hard disks, had failed. It has been replaced by a much more reliable, electronic, solid-state hard disk equivalent which uses an SD card for storage. The electronic disk provides 2GB of storage with MacOS 7.5.3 installed. It also contains a large number of utilities and programs.

The floppy disk drive has been disassembled, cleaned, serviced and lubricated. It reads, writes, formats and ejects floppies as intended.

The CD-ROM drive works as intended reading CDs and the tray opens and closes properly.

The old, depleted, hard to source and expensive to replace, clock battery has been replaced by a battery holder which uses three standard 1.5V batteries (batteries not included).

The top quality, built-in, Trinitron color screen is sharp, clear, bright and stable with no scratches and no burn-ins.

The case plastic is in amazing condition with no broken parts and barely any discoloration. Even the I/O port plate is still present and complete.

Includes the LC575 upgraded to 20MB of RAM and 2GB SD to SCSI hard disk, the video memory has also been upgraded; however, I’m unsure of the amount of video RAM added, an Apple-original ADB keyboard (Canadian bilingual layout – identical to the US layout with some keys serving double function of punctuation and accented character), an Apple-original ADB mouse, an Apple power cord, the original installation CD and installation boot floppy. Comes complete, configured and ready to use!

Available LC575’s are getting to be very rare and more difficult to find by the day as, very often, they were (and still are) used as donors for their logic board. The logic board is used for the very popular "Mystic” upgrade of the Macintosh Color Classic. This unit is a rare, collector grade, restored, functional, complete and tested, original and collectible, LC575. You will not be disappointed!

Despite this computer having been thoroughly tested and found to be fully functional, it IS almost 30 years old technology and as such, there is no guarantee offered, or implied, for continued functioning. This lot is being sold as-is with no returns accepted.

Everything is included to start using it right away for a first class trip back in time to the mid 1990s!
